"Forgotten Charm" is just that. A charming, abandoned boat house that I came across on that family trip to DeLeon Springs in 2016.
This is one of my favorite pieces to date. The lighting, subject, technique used.... I love it all. It also has some of the best clouds I've ever painted in it! You just can't see them through all the tree coverage, which is normal for the interior parts of the state. Florida has a large canopy, but when people think of the state, they think Spring Break, beaches and Disney World.
"Forgotten Charm" is another acrylic on stretched canvas painting and it has the most unique frame surrounding it. When I found the frame, a vintage reclaimed window, I hadn't even painted this yet, but I knew that the two were made for each other. The painting is mounted to charcoal grey painted hardboard, and then centered in the old window pane. I chose to leave the window as-is, with the peeling paint and hardware intact.
28x30, with frame.
